Behavior change is more important than AI and data analytics. Zeke Emmanuel and others argue that to derive truly effective action and value from AI and data analytics, they need to be  “thoughtfully [combined]…with behavioral economics and other approaches to support positive behavioral changes.” Data for data’s sake will distract from “meaningful behavior change”, which the authors contend is healthcare transformation’s deepest need. Remote monitoring with your cable subscription. Comcast is working on a home health monitor that will use ambient sensors to track time spent in bed or detect falls and provide voice-controlled technology for emergency phone calls. To build partnerships, Comcast is currently in talks with several large hospitals and plans to start pilot tests this year. Read more from CNBC.

Live video telehealth in use for mandatory abortion information visits. Many states have passed laws requiring women to attend information visits prior to receiving an abortion. In Utah, telehealth live video is used for these state-mandated visits. In a recent qualitative study many women report that their telehealth visits ease the financial and travel costs and privacy concerns associated with in-person visits.
